Founding Families

St. Martin de Porres Parish would not be what it is today without the efforts of many parishioners who have contributed to building up the life of the parish. Read about their contributions below. May we follow in their footsteps in making St. Martin's a place of welcome and encounter with Jesus Christ!

Constantine and Isolene Enriquez

Mr. and Mrs. Enriquez have been parishioners at St. Martin’s since the beginning. Constantine, along with Mr. Santos Diaz, played a large role in procuring fill dirt in order to build up the ground on which St. Martin’s stands today. They spearheaded the parish food distribution for the needy for several years. Isolene would make communion calls after Mass on Sunday, making sure people unable to make it to Mass received the Eucharist. Their favorite thing about St. Martin’s is the friendliness of everyone in the community.

Frank and Sheena Jean Lizama

Mrs. Sheena Jean Lizama has been a part of St. Martin’s Parish for over 40 years. Her husband, Frank (d. 2019) carved all the wooden items in the church, including the crucifix, paten, chalice, and baptismal font. Sheena Jean was a member of the Ladies Group led by Fr. Dick Hadel. Her duties included reading at Mass and organizing Bingo nights. She made trips for the Easter Triduum to Chetumal and Cancun with Br. Karl Swift and Br. Al Vogt. Her favorite part of being a member at St. Martin’s are the friendships she made and sustained throughout the years.
